Form Instructions
Use these instructions when filling out the Estimate Form. Depending on which options you select, you may or may not see some of the fields on your form.
If you don't know an answer - If you don't know an answer to a question or detail about your item, you must select or enter "Unknown." Do not guess. Do not give information that you believe to be true if you do not have a certificate, appraisal or other paperwork stating the information.
Selecting "Other" - If you select "Other" for any question, explain in the Additional Information section towards the bottom of the form.
About Your Item
Type of Item - Choose from the list of items that best fits your piece. If your item is not on the list, select "Other" and list in the Additional Information section below.
Type of metal - Select from the dropdown the type of metal of your item. If you are not certain, select "unknown." Metal jewelry is normally stamped. See the list below for helpful hints when determining the metal.
950 = Platinum
24K or 999 = 24K Gold
18K or 750 = 18K Gold
14K or 583 or 585 = 14K Gold
10K or 416 or 417 = 10K Gold
925 = Sterling Silver
Stone Type: check all that apply - Check the box next to all that apply. If you are unsure if your diamond or gemstone is natural, please check "Unknown".
Natural Diamond - check this box if you are positive the diamond is a real, natural diamond.
Natural Gemstone - check this box if you are positive the gemstone is a real, natural gemstone (emerald, sapphire, ruby, etc.)
Synthetic Stone - check this box if you are positive your diamond or gemstone is synthetic or lab grown.
Unknown - check this box if you are unsure if your diamond or gemstone is real or synthetic.
Natural Diamonds
Does your item contain a Single Diamond or one that is Larger than the others? - If your item contains a single diamond or one that is larger than the others on the piece, select "yes" and we will ask you additional questions about this diamond. Also, select "yes" for this field if you are selling diamond earrings.
Are any diamonds Clarity Enhanced? - If you have any paperwork on your item, please inspect it carefully to see if it states that any of your diamonds are "clarity enhanced."
Total carat weight - Enter here the total carat weight of all diamonds. If you do not know, enter "unknown."
Largest Diamond
Shape of Largest Diamond - Select the shape of the largest diamond from the dropdown list. If the shape is not on the list, select "Other" and enter it in the Additional Information section below.
Carat Weight of Largest Diamond - Enter the carat weight of the largest diamond. Do not enter the total carat weight of the entire piece.
Color of Largest Diamond - Enter the color of the largest diamond. If you have a colored diamond, select "Colored" and you can select the color of the colored diamond below.
Color of Colored Diamond - This label will appear if you select "Colored" above. Select the color in the dropdown list or select "Other" and enter it in the Additional Information section below.
Intensity of Colored Diamond - This label will appear if you select "Colored" above. Select the intensity of the colored diamond from the dropdown list.
Clarity of Largest Diamond - Select the clarity of the largest diamond from the dropdown list.
Natural Gemstones
List type of natural gemstone, number of stones, shape, carat weight, color and clarity - List any information you have about your gemstone here.
Synthetic Stones
List type of synthetic stone, number of stones, shape, carat weight, color and clarity - List any information you have about your gemstone here.
Additional Information
Additional Information - List certificate type and number, brand name, damage, etc. Certificate types include: GIA, AGS, HRD, EGL, IGI, GSI. Also, list any information that was not included in the form above. If you selected "other" in any of the above fields, explain here.
Also, list any damage, flaws, scratches, chips or wear on your item. Note if the item is engraved with personal information or stamped with a brand name.
Photos
Upload photos of your item and paperwork. Include photos of any certificate, appraisal or other paperwork that you think may be helpful.
How to upload a photo:
1. Click "Select Image"
2. Select the image you want to use
3. Click the upload image button with the up arrow.
Your image is not fully uploaded until you see the green bar under the photo that reads "Upload Complete."
Your Information
Full Name - Enter your legal first and last name. This is the name your payment will be sent to.
Email - Make sure your email is correct. You will receive a confirmation email to this email address, and this is how we will contact you. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours please submit another form.
Phone Number - Enter your phone number. We will only call or text you with an estimate if your email bounces back to us.
Terms and Conditions - Check this box if you agree to the Terms and Conditions of Hock My Rock.
